ENS Domains could be described as "web3 Venmo." But, instead of being connected to your bank account, it's connected to your wallet. It is called Ethereum Name Service, and it becomes your web3 username. Imagine if you could nickname your bank account "MoneyLynch.eth", and everywhere you shopped you simply used "MoneyLynch.eth", oh...and if someone wanted to send you something, they could just send it to "MoneyLynch.eth." This is basic ENS usage, but there's more.
"No more copying and pasting long addresses. Use your ENS name to store all of your addresses and receive any cryptocurrency, token, or NFT." - ENS
Example:
✨ NEW! What is ENS? - GoDaddy
Once you register an available ENS Domain name (just like a www domain name), it is stored as an NFT inside your wallet and ends in .eth, because this is an Ethereum token.
✨ UPDATED ENS MANAGER MAKES IT EZAF!
Send and receive cryptocurrency to your GoDaddy domain by linking to your ENS-compatible crypto wallet address. You'll be able to share your domain instead of the long character string of your wallet address.
MetaMask customers can now purchase crypto through Robinhood Connect. MetaMask’s ongoing goal is to support the adoption of web3 by providing more users with frictionless, secure onboarding to web3.
Search for an available ENS name
Add your receive addresses to the associated digital currencies so your frens know where to send crypto. Add associated Text Records to build your brand or professional web3 profile.
Using the ENS Manager, you can display your PFP avatar as your ENS background.
Do you already have a website? ENS is integrated with DNS, so you can import your domain to ENS and your website becomes a digital address where your customers can send digital payments or goods.
GoDaddy Customers can do this for free. 👀
